![]() ![]() Talking to "the dealer" about maintenance on a 13-14 year-old car is like talking the the Fox about Henhouse Security - the DEFINITION of "Conflict of Interest".Īsk "the dealer" if they do any transmission rebuild "in House". Until you drain your existing Tranny Fluid, drop the pan, examine the magnet inside pan for metal shavings (there will be SOME, but take photo), I would NOT be concerned about simply replacing Filter & Gasket, and filling with new fluid. 2 when you decide you want to accelerate fast from stop, or "bump"-like jerking when coming to a stop are related to causes OTHER than transmission clutch wear. ![]() Generally, a sign that the transmission is in need of serious rebuild/ replacement is when UPshifts are NOT positive, when Reverse slips, or when Torque Converter Lockup does NOT occur. Please define/describe "hard shifts" in as much detail as possible: upshift vs. My Carly app tells me my fluid is deteriorated I'm getting hard shifts (2007 bmw 328i) the dealer told me with this high mileage it'll make my transmission worse. I've never had it done and I'm at 134,000 miles. I'm constantly being told a transmission fluid change will ruin my transmission. But thanks to the marketing dept's "Lifetime Fluid" designation, that didn't happen for 99% of these and now that damage is done and it's too late. In reality, these transmissions could last several hundred thousand miles without any rebuilds nor flushes if they had their fluid drain and filled with a filter after initial break-in and on a regular interval. And most people will come back angry and claim that the shop did something wrong an broke the car. The reason the dealer recommends against it is purely litigious they know that if they change it, there's a decent chance it'll either not work, or make the problem worse. It's unlikely to improve any issues you have. If not, it'll probably at least make it worse. If you change the fluid, the new stuff might be so slippery your tranny simply won't work. The problem is, its been inside your tranny so long that it has worn all the friction material down to nothing, and now the friction of the liquid sandpaper is the only thing your tranny can grab on to to keep the mini-clutches for each gear engaged. Worn old fluid is like liquid sandpaper that rapidly accelerates wear and will destroy your transmission quickly. But if you can just drive it for another month while saving money and then get it rebuilt (obviously with all new fluid and cooler flush) then that's even better (cuz it's what you're gonna need to do eventually anyways) Regardless of fluid, that probably be in your near future.ĭo a drain and fill with new filter at the very least. It's great to read that you're enjoying all the different features that the app offers and using the Fluid card in addition to this.First, make sure you have set aside the money needed for a full tranny rebuild. Thank you so much for the in-depth and kind review you've given. So, in my opinion, I this credit is due excuse the pun to Fluid for giving their customers a great app to work with. Setting up a direct debit is as easy as 1/3. It's also extremely easy to make payments that may be due or you simply want to make additional payments. The app itself is well designed and thought about making every detail completely transparent and easy to navigate your way around and keep track on your spending and giving you the total amount of your credit limit and what you have available to spend on your card. After opting for the fingerprint sign in this made accessing my account even easier. Once I downloaded the app and filled in all of the security details I was up and running in no time. This is sure to put a smile on our agents faces! Hi there, thank you for your charming review! It's fantastic to hear you've had such a positive experience with us so far, and that you're finding the app so intuitive & useful. The customer service I received was friendly and professional, and my queries were sorted without fuss.įluid is my card of choice and I’ll ditch other credit card companies because Fluid rules them all. When I have had a cause to call Fluid, the experience was pleasant. The interest rates are clearly presented, unlikely many card companies that somehow hide the interest rates on their statements. The statement provides all the information you need with clear signage and simple language. Even a newbie to finance will understand the statements. One of the standout features for Fluid is the card statements. Navigation is easy and you know where to go for information. The app is sleek, yet it has a simple user interface. The app makes managing your card account smooth and easy. To say I’m impressed with Fluid Card, the app and service is an understatement. ![]()
